Youth Supporting Youth

At Unite 4 Life, we believe in empowering young people to help their peers.  We don't buy into the negative hype that young people are self-absorbed, spoiled, or that they don't care.  We believe in a generation of young people who are passionate about making a difference and changing the world.

Our whole program is designed to inspire young people to get involved in fighting back against depression and suicide.  We equip you to recognize when your peers are hurting and to know how to help through our school assemblies and classroom presentations.  We also institute Unite 4 Life Campus Clubs to mobilize young people to make a difference at their school.

We are pleased to announce another way that young people can get involved.  We are so excited to launch our new Youth Supporting Youth Program along with our "I Save Lives" Campaign.  The goal of this program is give the students the opportunity to invest in a great cause and to use their voice to support the cause.  You can do this by donating to Unite 4 Life and being a part of getting this live-saving information out to students.  You can then enroll in Youth Supporting Youth opening up several opportunities for you to raise awareness about youth depression and suicide and use your voice to encourage and comfort your peers.

Here is how it works:

• Any young person up to the age of 24 can be a part of the program.
• You start by donating ANY amount of money to Unite 4 Life.  It can be as little as a dollar...but, remember, the more you give, the more students we are able to reach!
• When you donate, please give us your name, age, and contact information.
• You will then be automatically enrolled in the Youth Supporting Youth Program and will be contacted directly by Unite 4 Life to get you started.

Here is what you get to be a part of:

• We will send you regular updates via email and social network sites to equip you with all the information you need to better understand the issues of youth depression and suicide.
• You will able to use your voice through Unite 4 Life's website and social network sites.
  • You can send us encouraging words, your personal story of overcoming depression or suicide, inspiring quotes, prayers for your peers, or anything else that you believe would help support your peers.
  • We will post everything you send us on the Student Voices page of our website as well as through our social network sites.
• Any student who donates at least $20, we will send you a FREE "I Save Lives" T-shirt
  • Wear this shirt to school, to the movies, or anywhere you go around town.
  • When someone asks you what it means, that will be your open door to use your voice to raise awareness about youth depression and suicide.

How to donate:

There are two ways to donate:
1) Make out a check or money order to Unite 4 Life and send it to:

• You may need your parents help when you donate. Be sure to tell them that all are donations are tax-deductible and we will send a donation receipt.
• Whichever way you choose to donate, be sure to give us your name, age, and contact info including email, phone, address, and user names on social network sites.
  • You can do this by including all the information in the envelope with your check or money order, or by providing it through the PayPal donation process.
